Silver Coast

Portugal's Silver Coast (Costa de Prata) is located in central Portugal between Porto & Lisbon. It is a beautiful region consisting of quaint fishing towns, stunning coastlines and traditional villages. Stretching from Lisbon to Fiqueira da Foz, this region gets its name from the effect of the sun on the waves of the Atlantic Ocean . Unlike the Algarve in the south of the country, much of this region remains relatively undiscovered by the mass tourism market. This has two main benefits – firstly, you can guarantee a beach to yourself even in the height of summer, as long as you are prepared to go a little way to find it. And secondly for property investors, property prices here are lower than in other parts of the country, whilst the beauty, and accessibility is still excellent.

Lisbon

Lisbon (Costa Lisboa) was made the official capitol of Portugal in 1256. Located on the South West coast , you will see here a wealth of 18 th Century architecture and colourful tiled buildings. Known for it's spring like temperatures in the winter, and cool Atlantic breezes in the summer, it is the perfect place to own a holiday villa, townhouse or apartment.

Many would include Lisbon as one of their favourite cities. There is something here for everyone - romantic cobbled streets, a picturesque port, bustling pavement cafes and riverside restaurants. It is the perfect place to sit and watch the world go by, whilst listening to the sounds of fado singing and taking the time to appreciate life.

Minho

The lush green region of Minho (also known as Costa Verde) is Portugal 's most traditional province and also an area of outstanding natural beauty. With green forests, rivers, historic towns and glorious sandy beaches it is delightful place to invest in property. Furthermore, the region of Minho is still relatively unheard of outside of Portugal , therefore this is a perfect loaction for buyers who wish to escape areas overly prone to tourism.

Alentejo

The huge plain of Alentejo, which covers approximately a third of Portugal , is home to just five percent of the population. This area, described, as the ‘Tuscany of Portugal' is quiet, peaceful and just as beautiful as it's Italian counterpart, without the droves of tourists.

Dotted with renaissance towns, hilltop villages, olives groves, fields of sunflowers and the largest cork oak forests in the world, Alentejo is tranquil and majestic. It benefits from a pleasant climate of mild winters and dry summers – an ideal location for a holiday home.

The Algarve

The Algarve is probably the most well-known region of Portugal , located across the bottom of the country. It is easy to see why it is so popular – with it's year-round sunshine, breath-taking coastline and miles of golden sands it is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Property bought here can be easily rented out throughout the year – to sun-worshipers in the summer and golf enthusiasts in the winter, providing an excellent income from holiday rental.
